We understand how important it is to deal quickly and accurately with your prescription requests. We have also made the ordering process as simple and flexible as possible.
Ordering repeat prescriptions
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
Collecting your prescription
We endeavour to process your repeat prescription requests as soon as possible but please allow at least a minimum 2 working days processing time.
Please remember to order your items early if you are going on holiday and to keep in mind dates when the practice is closed such for bank holidays and practice training dates.
We do not operate an urgent medication facility, if you run out of medication, pharmacies can issue an emergency supply of repeat medication if you take an empty box for their information.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Pharmacy collection service
Most of the local pharmacies run a collection service and are happy to pick up your prescription from the surgery. To save confusion, please be clear whether you would like this to happen when ordering your items.
Prescriptions can also be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. To nominate your chosen pharmacists please use our online services. Please contact your chosen pharmacy for advice on prescription process time.
Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
Go to Medicines A to Z (nhs.uk)
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:
- fill out an ask a prescription question form
Medication reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
If you have been advised by the surgery that your medication review is due please use our online form.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

What to do with old medicines
