Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your SystmOnline account
- by phoning us on 01594 820010 after 11am
We will only contact you if we have concerns with your test results that we take or request for you. If we are unable to speak to you on the phone, we will ask you to contact us about the result.
We do find sometimes that results that may be labelled “abnormal” are actually nothing to worry about and in these instances we may not contact our patients.
- Blood and urine test results normally take 3 to 4 working days before they are received by us.
- X-rays and scan results normally take at least 5 working days before they are received.
To ensure confidentiality, we can only release this information to the patient (or parent / guardian), unless prior approval has been given in writing.
